Peyton's 7th Birthday

For months, Peyton has been asking to go

to Build-A-Bear for her birthday. Finally

the day arrived! We took her to Build-A-Bear

and she picked out her animal and a few outfits.

After, we went to Tony Romas for ribs

good girlfriends, a hot tub and manicures

Here's Milo in August

His right eye has some vision loss, but I

don't think it's that bad. He can definitely

see out of it. He is Aimee's new project. She

says she "has a thing for red roans with bad eyes"

I had full intentions of downsizing my herd, and even

found a wonderful home for Jackson. Then I heard

about a pen of weanlings Vaughn had at Sandy Ridge.

We ended up coming home with two (Vaughn gave

us a red roan colt that had injured its eye a couple

of days earlier). This turned out to be an entirely new

experience for us. 6 month old weanlings that had never

been handled by humans. We've been working with them

daily and they have come a long way. They are friendly

and curious and are now the first ones that come up

to us to say hello.

Boo At The Zoo

This October we went to Boo at the Zoo

with friends. The kids loved it!

We sat in the parking lot for 15 minutes,

waiting out a mid-October thunderstorm.

The thunder and lightning passed and we

had an enjoyable evening.

I didn't mess much with him today. Took him out and let him eat grass on the lawn for awhile.

Day 1 with Jackson

Today was an eventful day for the little guy. I've been keeping him separated from the others so I can work with him and hopefully bond sooner. He's a yearling, so it makes him a little more unpredictable thus dangerous. I found out that he loves LOVES to be brushed! He had several grooming sessions today and stood perfectly for them all. He even tried to do the mutual grooming back to me, but I can't allow that, lol! We also worked on some halter breaking as well and he seems to be picking it up quickly. At the end of the day I got a call from the vet that he was coming through Altona, so it worked out that he was gelded and had his wolf teeth removed as well. So far he seems to be taking it all in stride and is doing fantastic!
