A Beautiful Fall Day!

Ruby turned one yesterday!

In the 2 months that we have been 'country folk',
we've also become (much to Curt's dismay)...
cat people. Here is Ruby checking out Mittens.


Since Mittens joined our family, we've had a couple
of others wander onto our yard. Today we realized
they were coming from the neighbor's place. Cleo
thinks all these kittens are great. I actually think
she thinks they are her babies.



So we just feed them, and if they happen to catch
a mouse or two, that's worth it!

Aimee's new 4-H project/show horse as of

tomorrow!

The New Haircut

Well...not much to say about the new haircut.
It's remniscent of a bowl cut, actually.


Lets just say that she'll be wearing headbands
for the next few months

I Could Scream!!!!

While in the middle of a 12hr shift at work,
I get a call from Aimee who says that Peyton
has locked herself in the bathroom and is giving
herself a haircut.


The damage was as bad as I feared...(this is NO
time - Cheryl & Phil - to make jokes about the
Half-Fro!)


Any suggestions on how to fix this? Other than
making it into a mullet??


Notice the nice short piece sticking up on the top
of her head? It sticks up even when the hair is
wet! And I was going to have the girls' pictures
taken in a few weeks!!!

First Day of School!

Today was Peyton's first day of kindergarten!
I can't believe how time has flown :(


She was pretty excited. When I told her she
had to wait until after lunch, she asked at 9am
if we could have lunch.

It was a nerve wracking decision, but we decided
to give the school bus a try. She loved it and got
to sit with her old neighborhood friend. She also

managed to embarass her older sister within the

first 5 minutes.

Aimee - Gr. 8...next year is highschool. Seriously,
where has the time gone!?!

Aimee's Trip

In August, Aimee was invited to go to Calgary to
spend some time with her best friend Maggie.


She flew all by herself and in the 5 days there
they went hiking in banff, rode the gondola,
swimming and watched an AQHA show in
Red Deer.
