4-H Speech Night

Our annual 4-H Speech Night was
held this evening at the Seeds Church

Aimee and Maggie were in the category,
'Intermediate 2 person Visual'

Their speech was titled 'Lapbooking' and
described how to make one (their's was about
horses, of course)

Their presentation had to be between 7-9
minutes

They won their category! (it had
nothing to do, I'm sure, with the
fact that they were the only ones
in their category) They will now
move on and present their speech
in Morden on March 14th

This is what my kitchen looked like this afternoon.
Curt was in the process of ripping out the granite
tiles. What a mess!

But he made great progress and finished the
job in 1 day! We hope to finish the travertine
backsplash this week.

Disney On Ice

We needed a sitter for a few hours this afternoon.
Not only did Kelly and Tara agree to watch Peyton,
but they took the kids to see Disney On Ice!
(Pictures aren't bad considering they were taken
from a camera phone)

The kids had a blast, not even one squabble!

After the show they went to Montana's for supper.
It must have been an exhausting day. Thanks
Kelly and Tara for giving Peyton such a
wonderful day!

Kid Fair & Diaper Derby

Today we went to the Baby & Kid Fair in Wpg.
There were lots of activities for the kids.

Lucy was 1 of 5 babies entered in the Diaper
Derby. We almost thought she won here, but
then other cheering dads scared her and she
beelined back to Phil at the Start line.

The little boy next to her took the lead, winning
the race. But Lucy did end up trying again and
got second. They were the only 2 that did end
up finishing the race.

Second prize was 2 tickets to the Doodlebops.
Way to go, Lucy!

There was a little concert after with a few
characters from some of the shows Peyton
watches. Miss Spider...

Peyton and Charlie really enjoyed the show

Bananas in Pyjamas (didn't know they were
still on, actually...they used to be one of Aimee's
favorite shows)

And Max and Ruby - the show that all parents
can't stand but for some reason kids love it

I think their highlight (other than the bouncy
castles) was mini-car town. Just seconds before
this picture was taken, Charlie and Peyton
almost took out the row of bystanders behind
them. Curt actually had to pick up the car, pull
it out of the curtains and turn it around.

Peyton was a pretty bad driver. Fortunately
she's got time to improve her skills.

Aimee and Amy

Aimee and Kristen

For Valentine's Day this year we went
out for supper and to a movie with
Shawn and Carole in Winnipeg. The
kids stayed at our place so the older
girls could babysit Peyton and Tyson.
It was a great day!

Let's Bowl!

Curt's been wanting a Wii ever since we played
it at Cheryl & Phil's. So when he saw them at
Target, he made sure to get one.

Even Aimee likes to play.

But Peyton's the best of us all, frequently
getting strikes.

And she rubs it in to everyone else

Cleo thinks we're playing fetch and keeps
trying to catch whatever it is we're throwing

A Weekend Away

Here are some pictures of the kids enjoying
the pool

Aimee and Maggie having a break

On Friday we went to Fargo to spend the
weekend at the Holiday Inn with friends.

Here's Peyton, showing off the bears she bought
with money from Grandma & Grandpa

Peyton and Jordan playing ping pong while
we wait for supper

Poor Wallace wasn't feeling well, but he still
managed to play hard

Being goofy before bed

Aimee and Maggie were great - they did lots
of shopping and helped out with the kids quite
a bit.
