We started off on Friday night by loading up the horse
trailer and heading to Darlingford for the Paul Unrau
clinic. We will go every Friday for the next 6
weeks from 7 - 10pm. He did not disappoint!
This morning the girls were up at 5am (and had
only gotten to bed after midnight the night before).
We were in Miami by 8:30 am for Aimee and Babe's
first horse show! Here they are in Halter Showmanship
(and, YES, we ARE getting a tail extension for this poor,
little app!).
Next class was the costume class, which they had
so much fun with! (I do think horses can
get embarrassed)
Western Pleasure class. For their first time in
the show ring, they both did fantastic! Especially
considering 6 months ago Babe had never really
been ridden.
Babe was a little pokey today and Aimee had a
tough time making her 'go', but I think they still
had fun
Last class was Trail. They had to side pass to a gate,
open it, walk through it and close it without letting
go, side pass over 2 poles and then back through the
poles, weave through pylons, lope to the bridge and
then walk over it. Aimee and Babe got 5th!!
Next weekend is the Manitou Fair after the Friday night clinic.
If this keeps up, our summer will be very exhausting!
